Field Test Results

In a 300-capacity live house with a low ceiling and a hazy atmosphere typical of indie rock and electronic sets, we mounted two Betopper LM0740 units on a front lighting truss about 4 meters above stage level, angled slightly toward center.

The moment we activated the fixtures and set the zoom to its tightest 4.5°, the beams were impressively defined—piercing through the haze like laser lines. Positioned about 8 to 10 meters from the back wall, the output retained its shape and intensity all the way across the room, without fading or bleeding out. This made them perfect for highlighting dramatic drum hits or guitar solos with immediate impact.

We used 18-channel DMX mode for full control via a lighting console. During slower, ambient parts of the set, we programmed gentle pan and tilt sweeps with low-intensity colors. The movement was smooth, free of the mechanical twitching often seen in lower-grade heads. The built-in kaleidoscope effect added subtle mid-air textures—shifting, rotating shapes that floated just above the audience’s heads and gave the room a dynamic three-dimensional feel.

Color mixing was particularly impressive. Deep blues and saturated magentas had a rich, immersive tone, while pure whites were clean and neutral—thanks to the RGBW engine. When switching quickly between color presets, transitions felt snappy but fluid, and there was no visible color ghosting or stutter.

Most importantly, the LM0740 responded instantly to every cue. Whether snapping to a static beam during a beat drop or chasing through complex mid-air patterns, it kept up with the tempo and added energy without stealing focus.
